Because it is the only bridge in the world that allows people to remain on it while it is swinging open, this one is special. The bridge is 1,000 tons in weight and has a total span of 187 feet. On June 28, 2013, the Scale Lane Footbridge was publicly opened to the public by the Lord Mayor of Kingston.

Price: $320 million
Situated in the Brooklyn borough of New York City, the Brooklyn Bridge is a hybrid suspension bridge with cable stays. Brooklyn and Manhattan are connected by the East River Bridge. Due to a long list of political disputes and infighting inside the Tammany-Hall-controlled NY Bridge Company, the new hybrid design was repeatedly canceled and then relaunched. It opened at last, after thirteen years of bureaucratic entanglement. The Brooklyn Bridge was renovated in the 1950s, 1980s, and 2010 with millions of dollars' worth of additional enhancements, and it is included on numerous lists of historical landmarks.
